Dr. Maria Edger is a Senior Lecturer at IAMBA, where they specialize in the fields of Management and Business Administration. With a robust academic background, Dr. Maria earned their doctorate degree in Business and International Management from Harvard University
With extensive experience in both teaching and research, Dr. Maria has contributed significantly to the academic community through participaton in events about students' conceptions of academic conduct in UK Higher Education. The aim of this study is to explore and examine students’ understanding and development of the concept of academic conduct within the context of their undergraduate education programme within a university setting in England.
Dr Maria areas of expertise include Management, Business, Marketing and Governance , and she particularly interested in International Management.In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Maria has a strong commitment to student success and is dedicated to providing high-quality education and mentorship to their students. Dr Hayati Mauphra is a distinguished Lecturer at the IAMBA, where she has developed and led undergraduate and master’s degree modules for nearly a decade. In her role as Programme Leader for the direct entry programme, she plays a crucial part in shaping the academic journey of her students.
With over 24 years of experience in industry, she has held various leadership, managerial, and consultancy positions across the private and voluntary sectors in both the Middle East and the UK. Her extensive background in these roles brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her academic endeavors.
In 2021, she was honored with the British Empire Medal in recognition of her outstanding contributions to community service and voluntary work. This accolade underscores her unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of others and her passion for community engagement.
In 2023, she had the unique privilege of attending His Majesty’s coronation at Westminster Abbey, a testament to her exceptional standing and contributions.
Dr. Alan Silva Linayo holds a First Class degree in Sociology with Political Science, an MSc in Research Methods with Distinction, and an MA in Human Resource Development his profound engagement with reflexivity and transformative educational practices.
Throughout his tenure at the Academy, Dr. Alan has taken on significant leadership roles, including his current position as Programme Leader for the MSc Management . His extensive experience includes managing the 2011-13 Undergraduate Business and Management Periodic Review as Project Manager. In this role, he spearheaded the curriculum redesign, overhauled teaching and learning approaches in collaboration with the Principal Lecturer for Learning and Teaching, and coordinated comprehensive documentation from various internal and external stakeholders.
Dr. Alan is an active researcher in digital reflection, storytelling, and reflexivity. His innovative teaching methods incorporate digital platforms, audio, and video, which extend into his assessment practices. He encourages students to create educational toolkits such as vlogs, websites, podcasts, and digital storyboards, fostering creative and practical learning experiences.
